It's very hard to blog when you don't feel like you have anything to say... or, in my case, to show. However, we've recently been on a picture taking spree... hence the title.
It's late, so I won't make this particular post a long one, but Joe took some pictures this evening that we wanted to share...
Orion
The pictures don't do it justice, but Joe had a lot of fun playing with the camera settings. Our camera's longest shutter speed is only 30 seconds, so he couldn't capture any of the fainter stars.
Big dipper
It must be a new moon tonight because our lunar friend is nowhere to be found. That means, though, that we can see the stars wonderfully from behind our house. The Milky Way's river of stars through the sky is impossible to miss.

That's a GREAT pic of Orion! You can even see his sword which is something I don't see very often here--we have too much light pollution. Folk lore states that if the Big Dipper is upside-down (relativly speaking) you'll get rain. Looks like you stayed dry! I bet you do indeed have amazing views of the stars!! Color me jealous!
