After conquering peach compote, it was time to take things to the next level - pickling! Other recipes for pickles that I have seen are very complicated and take forever to make, but this was just as easy as compote!
Start by setting out your ingredients
Make sure you have clean, empty jars
And cucumbers, of course!
Leyla Nasa and I made sure to have her favorite soaps playing and then we got to work adding ingredients to jars and jamming cucs in as cram-packed as possible.
Put your spices in the bottom of each jar
Add vinegar
Learning to do things like this is not just for the life skills, its for the language, too! Practice makes perfect... right?
Stuff the soon-to-be pickles in as tight as you can
Add a spoon of сол (salt), and a spoon of захар (sugar)
Ta da! Jars of pickles, ready to be lidded (I know, not a word...) and sealed.
So, next time you eat a pickle, think of Joe and I and smile!

What kind of pickles are these? They look amazing. Is there no liquid other than the vinegar in the jars?
I don't know what kind they are... just pickles... but I did forget to mention that she filled the jars the rest of the way with water before sealing the lids on.
